Stockhorn Speedride - Zermatt
Too much wind caused difficult snowconditions on the Stockhorn. The skiing is ok, high speeds are dangerous. Zermatt, March 15
Zermatts Ski Lifts begin, where other Ski Areas end
An event of superlatives
Far away from recreational skiers and snowboarders, high up where there are no
grooming machines and in an area that is usually only visited by a small number of adventurous snowboarders and skiers, the Zermatt mountain transport company
is opening a new ski lift.
At the beginning of March there will be an event that is all superlatives:
- DIVE: the worlds first freeride speed contest
- BUMP VERTICAL: the worlds steepest bump competition
And for a great start to the freeriding, there is a free ski pass and no start money.
Further highlights
- FREERIDE MARATHON: Who completes the most runs on the Triftji / Stockhorn lifts between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.?
- NEW ARCHITECTURE IN AN OLD TOP STATION AT 3200 meters above sea level
- MOUNTAIN GUIDES WILL TAKE MEDIA GUESTS on a tour through the Stockhorn area, in order to show the highlighs of these newly reopened areas
